WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE AN ACCREDITED DENTIST?
The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) is the largest international dental organization dedicated specifically to the art and science of cosmetic dentistry.
The AACD has over 6,000 general members in more than 50 countries around the globe including the United States. Members of the Academy include cosmetic and reconstructive dentists, dental laboratory technicians, dental assistants, dental hygienists, educators, researchers, and students. General members can achieve the status of Accredited and Fellowship through display of superior skill in the field of cosmetic dentistry.
The AACD offers the only higher-education credentialing program in cosmetic dentistry. The program allows members of the AACD to undergo a stringent process of clinical examinations and oral presentations designed to help participants in the field of cosmetic dentistry.
There are approximately 250 Accredited and 39 Fellow dentists worldwide. Washington DC Dentist Dr. Olson received his Accreditation in 1998 and his Fellowship in 2005.
The Washington DC Cosmetic Dentist currently serves as the 10th Accreditation Chairman in the history of the organization and is also an examiner for future applicants seeking to become an Accredited Member.
