"Cosmetic restorations have been life changing for many of our patients. They are thrilled to learn that now there is an alternative to the old porcelain/metal crowns that often left a black line along the gum line. Today's materials and techniques offer them a perfectly natural restoration they can feel really good about." -Waldorf Dentist Dr. Olson
Because of their superlative beauty and strength, we feature metal-free porcelain crowns for our cosmetic restorations. These custom crafted restorations are the result of the teamwork between expert cosmetic dentist Dr. Olson and a talented team of master ceramists. Dr. Olson will make impressions that are sent to the lab along with detailed directions about shape, size and color. There are a variety of porcelains that can be used for your restorations and Dr. Olson's professional expertise will help him decide which would be best for your unique circumstances.
The diagnostic work-up prior to making the crown is of the utmost importance. In the initial interview, Dr. Olson will discuss with you what kind of look you want to achieve with your restorations. He will need to consider such factors as the condition of your bite and the location of the restorations in your mouth because demands on the front teeth are greater than those of the back corner. If aesthetics were the only concern veneers would be the most simple and minimally invasive solution, but the dentist may feel that a crown is the best solution if you need more than just aesthetic enhancement.
All porcelain crowns give you the best of both worlds; aesthetics and functionality. They can repair such issues as tooth wear, bite issues or tooth breakdown with a restoration that will look totally natural and lifelike while being extremely durable.
The teeth are shaped in wax by the dentist prior to starting work in the mouth. After the tooth is prepped, a prototype (temporary crown) is constructed that will give you a preview of your restoration, then instructions are sent by the dentist to our master ceramists. These experts will meticulously create a restoration that will mimic the look of your own teeth in color, texture and translucency. They will look and feel real! The final result is a work of cosmetic dentistry art.
We know you'll be thrilled with the beauty and life-like appearance of your new restorations. "Making your smile a masterpiece" is our goal, let us show you how easy it can be!
