Noting that “September is Neonatal Intensive Care Awareness Month,” WSYR-TV Syracuse, NY (9/25, Giordano) states that “one way mothers can keep their babies out of the NICU is to improve their oral health, experts say.” The article reports Dr. James Brown, the Medical Director at St. Joseph’s Health, “says that dental care and regular dental visits can in fact contribute to less premature births.” The article reports research suggests that there is an association between “pregnant women and their dental health and premature birth, he added.”
